Australian Summer weather can be punishing on flowers, so there must be careful consideration of the type of blooms used according to the forecasted weather on the actual wedding day. I have 10 years of experience with trial and error and I can confidently find beautiful blooms that will last the distance on the hot days.
Following on from Spring, there is an abundance of locally grown flowers available. Summer blooms for weddings include peonies, zinnias, cosmos, garden roses, clustar spray roses, delphiniums, dahlias, hydrangea, scabiosa, lisianthus, snap dragons, tuberose, chamomile and freesia. I love using the whimsical foliage pittosporum, which comes in a variagated and mid green colours. Also love using wheeping magnolia for dramatic lines in installations.
